ronically, the disputes between the US and China ce

enter around both nations’ legitimate desires to protect some current l

ow-skilled jobs, or at least to allow an easier transition to new jobs and industries.

US administration’s economic policy has rightly focused on the need to retain jobs for working-class people in the US. And, Ch

ina’s companies that export to the US also largely now employ less-skilled working-class people. However, neither the

US nor China can expect to keep, much less get back, low-wage, low-skilled manufacturing jobs.

Many people have the impression that Chinese goods are dominant in US markets. That is true only in a few highly compe

titive, low-profit sectors. According to US Commerce Department data, China has more than 50 percent of the US

market in such items as umbrellas, toys, prepared feathers, footwear, straw products, and bedding.

Language training, NASA’s space camp, computer programming, homes

“Certain volunteering and public-welfare routes have seen a particularly fast increase in bookings,” Zhang says.

During the recent winter vacation in February, study-t

Domestic trips cost roughly 4,500 yuan ($663) per capita on ave

Parents from Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong province’s Guangz

Our program features opportunities for students to exp

xperience what is it like in real satellite development projects,” Cui said.

“We will ask the students to set up a project team to simulate research and development of an imaginary satellite, and e

ach of them will be designated a role ranging from chief designer to subsystem manager,” Cui added.

“We also offer opportunities to the students to visit satellite research-related institu

tes and satellite users to see satellites’ assembly, testing and experiments,” Cui said.

“They will be able to get personal understanding of spacecraft research and development and obtain some know-how.”

He said space training providers in other countries will not take foreign students to design or production sites.

Cui said most of the lecturers in the program are senior researchers and chief desi

gners at Chinese space institutes and provide the foreign students with the latest expertise.

The industrial park sits on nearly 26 hectares of land in

Ballard County and has been set up to use the carp acquired by the fish center. Twelve tracts of land inside the park are for sale.

On opening day, eight tracts were already claimed, with most of the investors coming from China.

Jiang Chenguang, an internet businessman from the Guangxi

Zhuang autonomous region, launched the United Fisheries Group to process carp into fish balls

and fish cakes for export to China. Two Rivers Foods will process smoked fish, and has already shipped a smoker to the site.

A business called Lakeside City has been formed to process carp into salted fish, while

Eco Fish, which already existed, has hired fishermen to catch carp, process them and recycle waste into fertilizer.

Zhu Hongwei, a hotel and catering businessman from Jiangsu province, decided on the day the indus

Shanghai alone generated 509.2 billion yuan in touris

Shanghai’s abundant cultural and tourism resources, its high lev

Last year, 135 products sought official recognition to be sold as city souvenirs. Only 43 made

it to the shortlist, out of which 24 were eventually selected as they featured distinctive Shanghai elements.

Many of the products are made by time-honored brands including White Rabbit creamy candy, Park Hotel’s butterfly cooki

orida Water, as well as Shanghai Museum’s creative jewelry box, silk scarves, teacup sets and table flags.

Contents regarding collective copyright managem

ent organizations, including stock image platforms, have been debatable and remain a key issue among lawmakers,” she said.

“I believe such copyright agencies will be regulated in the future version of the law after Visual

China’s incident, and our IP protection will also be further strengthened thanks to the case,” she added.

Different from many comments that criticized the company and its business, Chen sai

d it is “Okay” for stock image platforms to profit from selling images or filing copyright lawsuits.

“Proper commercial operations can help defend the rights of individual creators, as it is difficult a

nd costly for individuals to sift through seas of information and find out who infringes their rights,” she said. “Or su

ch platforms create a better environment for copyright owners to easily and effectively safeguard their rights.”

But she suggested the country set up a third-party to supervise

the platforms’ operation to prevent them from exercising the rights beyond the legal scope.

When resorting to the legal system for protection, the

re is a price to pay: time, money and the risk of losing your job. And as a result they took to cyberspace,” she said.

Employers are obliged to provide overtime pay, bonuses and welfare benefits to em

ployees working overtime. But many tech company employees said it was too much to hope for.

A senior developer with the e-commerce giant Alibaba,

who asked not to be named to protect his career, said employers seldom say the

schedule is compulsory, but failure to follow the rules could lead to low performance scores and layoffs.

“Defiant behavior can also lead to losing your annual bonus, which is a lot of money,” he said.

To better protect workers from harsh treatment, Jiang suggested th

at oversight should be beefed up, and systems for lodging complaints should be improved.

China’s Labor Law prescribes that the working hours of

an employee should not exceed an average of eight hours daily, or 44 hours a week.
